Maintenance & repair of a Rollator? → 5 Tips!
It is important to keep your rollator in good condition to prevent accidents due to poor maintenance. We are happy to explain how to properly care for the wheels, handles, seat support, and backrest of your rollator. This will prevent you from having to repair your rollator and allow you to enjoy it for a long time.
Top 5 Tips for Maintaining Your Rollator
Regularly clean your rollator with a sponge
It is essential to clean your rollator regularly. Like most other products, a rollator attracts dirt and dust. It is therefore advisable to clean it occasionally with some soap, a bucket, and a towel or sponge. Wipe the dirt off the seat, backrest, handles, and frames. Make sure you also dry the rollator well after cleaning. If you have been in the rain or snow with it, dry it as soon as possible. This keeps the material in top condition.
Store it indoors
We recommend that you do not leave your rollator outside all the time, as extreme temperature differences in combination with rain are not good for certain parts. If you leave your rollator outside for a long time, the seats, backrest, and handle will be more prone to wear and tear and the frame may expand or shrink. That is why we recommend storing your rollator in your living room.
Check the brakes regularly
Like a car, bike, or any vehicle, the brakes are an essential part of your rollator. It is important to check the brakes regularly to see if they are in good condition. If your brakes are in bad condition, you are at risk of accidents.
Check the tires
The Lucas rollator has tires that are maintenance-free. Some rollators have tires that need to be regularly inflated, but that is not the case for our rollator. If any problems occur with the tires, please contact us because we will be happy to help you!
Regularly check the firmness of the handles and the seat on the rollator.
If they are loose or wobbly, this can lead to unsafe driving conditions and an increased risk of falls. Make sure all bolts and nuts are securely fastened and tighten if necessary.
